Frequently Asked Questions

When it comes to dentistry and teeth in general, people have plenty of questions. Fortunately, the team at Crossroads Family Dentistry is ready to answer them. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we receive every day. Read through them, and if you have a question that we haven’t covered here, feel free to give us a call and ask! We’re always happy to talk to you and make sure you have all the information you need about your dental care.

How often should my family get checkups and cleanings?

All of our doctors agree with the American Dental Association on this one: everyone over the age of four should have at least two checkups and cleanings each year in order to help prevent tooth decay, cavities, gum disease, and more. Some patients may require more frequent visits, but for most, two is enough to keep their smile well protected.

Do you accept children?

We certainly do! We’re happy to treat Forest’s littlest smiles starting from when their first teeth begin to appear. We have the fun and relaxed environment that kids love plus the treatments growing smiles need to stay strong as they develop. To schedule your child’s next dental appointment, give us a call today.

What is the best way to replace my missing teeth?

While we offer a multitude of options that can restore any number of missing teeth for years to come, dental implants are by far the most durable, natural-looking, and reliable option available. We’re able to provide all-inclusive implant care right here in Forest, making it easier than ever for patients to rebuild their smiles using this state-of-the-art solution.

Why do root canals hurt so much?

This is a very persistent dental myth, but the truth is that a root canal is actually NOT a painful procedure. It is used to treat teeth that have developed a severe infection, and often it is the pain caused by this infection that is mistakenly connected to the treatment. In our dental office, root canals are always the solution to dental pain and never the cause!

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we are an extremely insurance-friendly dental office! We accept a long list of plans, and we’ll even handle the claims process for you to ensure that you’re maximizing your benefits. How can we use your particular plan to help you save? Just give us a call today to find out.

Are there ways to save on my dental care WITHOUT insurance?

Yes! We accept payment plans through CareCredit, or you can sign up for our own in-house membership plan. With our plan, for just one low annual fee, you’ll gain access to significant discounts on a wide variety of dental services. It provides all the benefits of an insurance plan with none of the hassle! To learn more about it and sign up today, give us a call.
